Clive Chaman

An in-demand UK based session bassist in the 1970s, Clive Chaman brought a fluid, funky disposition to several seminal sides including the Jeff Beck Group’s highly underrated Rough and Ready (1971) and the follow-up, simply tagged Jeff Beck Group (1972), though known to the masses as “the orange album.”

After Beck retired this band, Chaman and the remainder of the Group formed Hummingbird which waxed three excellent platters.

Born in Trinidad, Clive also appeared on stellar releases by Donavan (Cosmic Wheels /1973), and Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express (Happiness Heartaches/ 1977), among others.
