Rufus

Chaka, Chaka, Chaka, Chaka Khan! As a founding member of Rufus and noted session player with artists including Three Dog Night, Joe Walsh, Candi Staton, and Neil Young, among others, Dennis Belfield anchored the band’s first two platters including their signature Grammy Award winning hit “Tell Something Good.” His successor, Bobby Watson, joined the former Yvette Marie Stevens and company in 1974, and helmed the bass chair until Rufus called it a day in 1983, plying pop-funk grooves aplenty for Rufus’ riveting run of platinum albums, singles, and sold-out performances.
