Phil "Fang" Volk

His nickname is derived from his prominent eye teeth! Phil Volk served as bassist for Paul Revere and the Raiders for a short time (1965-67) yet he did compose and sing on a few of their more notable albums. Appearing with the band on scores of high profile TV shows, concerts, and teen magazines – I’m not sure how much of his bass playing actually made it on to the single and album tracks produced by Terry Melcher.

After splitting from the Raiders, Volk worked in various ensembles including Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon Band, and continues on the bandstand as leader of Fang and the Gang.
