Bill MacCormick

Of all the classic progressive rock bass maestros who have garnered hosannas aplenty, to my ears, none are as soulful as Bill MacCormick.

An acclaimed UK session player borne of the Cantebury Scene, Bill’s distinctive rhythm & blues approach to the genre was unique, especially on such watershed albums by 801 (801 Live, Listen Now), Quiet Sun (Mainstream), Phil Manzanera (Diamond Head, K-Scope), Brian Eno (Here Come the Warm Jets), and Robert Wyatt (Nothing Can Stop Us, Matching Mole) to cite a select few.

Following his music career, Bill entered politics, among other endeavors; however he occasionally resurfaces as a bassist and producer with the aforementioned Roxy Music guitarist.
