Marvin Isley

“Pop That Thang!” “Harvest for the World” “Fight the Power Pts. 1 & 2” “That Lady Pts. 1 & 2” are just a few examples of the enduring bass artistry of the late Marvin Isley. Grooving in the pocket with a mastery of soul, rock, rhythm & blues, and disco, the youngest of the famed siblings joined his brothers for the crossover long-player Givin’ It Back (1971) and, with the exception his brief tenure with the offshoot Isley-Jasper-Isley trio, brilliantly anchored the iconic collective until illness forced him into early retirement in 1997.
