Iggy Pop / Post Pop Depression

Akin to Bob, David, Lou, and Leonard - Mr. Osterberg waxes greatness in his waning days as a recording artist.

Essentially a collaborative effort with Josh Homme – who helms the bass chair with his Queens of the Stone Age band-mate Dean Fertita- the lower register grooves on this platter are subtle yet ferocious; colored with distortion; and made more powerful by the space they leave rather than fill.

Post Pop Depression (2016) to my ears fundamentally bridges Pop’s solo canon from his brilliant Bowie Berlin era The Idiot (1977) to the present day. Bravo Iggy!
