Electric Miles: Dave Holland, Harvey Brooks

Although Ron Carter plugged in for a few tracks for Filles de Kilimanjaro (1969), bassists Dave Holland and session ace Harvey Brooks (Bob Dylan, Doors, Al Kooper/Mike Bloomfield) officially brought Miles into the rock realm. Plying elastic grooves throughout the watershed Bitches Brew (1970) and archival masterpiece Big Fun (1974) Dave and Harvey seamlessly merged the upright and electric on such on seminal tracks as "Sanctuary," "Spanish Key," "Pharaoh's Dance," "Lonely Fire," and "Trevere."
