Elton John / Wonderful Crazy Night

Not since his early records with Herbie Flowers, the late great Dee Murray, and Kenny Passarelli has the bass playing on a Reg Dwight platter been as captivating as Wonderful Crazy Night. Session and touring vet Matt Bissonette, who has waxed slabs and shared stages with Joe Satriani and David Weave Roth, among others, renders extraordinary counterpoint and grooves aplenty on what is, to my ears, the best Bernie ā€˜nā€™ Elton collection since their last great album, Blue Moves, in 1976 -or Too Low for Zero (1983) for you hardcore EJ devotees.
