John Glascock

A multi-instrumentalist, composer and vocalist, the late John Glascock was among the most dexterous and versatile rock bassists of his generation. Though most known for his tenure in Jethro Tull from 1976-79, Glascock’s work with the Latin prog-rock ensemble Carmen (Fandangos in Space, Dancing on the Cold Wind), and blues ensembles Toe Fat and Chicken Shack (Imagination Lady) was extraordinary, moving in-and-out of the pocket with intriguing melodic extensions and grooves abetted with a myriad of effects. Sadly he passed too young (28), but his canon with all the above referenced ensembles is well worth seeking out.
