Bowie / Nassau Coliseum '76

Aside from the fact that it was my first Bowie show, the Thin White Duke’s Station to Station tour stop at the Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, 23 March 1976 was among his most widely bootlegged recordings until it was officially released in the Station… Deluxe box-set.

Bassist George Murray along with drummer Dennis Davis brought the funk and fury to David’s art-rock ambitions on what is, to my ears, Bowie’s definitive live slab. Check out George’s solo at the conclusion of “Changes,” and double-time swing on “Panic in Detroit.”
