Chris Squire / Fish Out of Water

An amazing aural testimony to the genius of Christopher Russell Edward Squire, Fish Out of Water was a mind-blowing long-player upon its 1975 release traversing progressive, chamber pop, ambient, funk, and jazz. Among Squire's simpatico collaborators include Bill Bruford, Mel Collins, Patrick Moraz, and Andrew Jackman.  With all due respect to Rick Wakeman- to my ears, Squire's solo bow was the finest solo platter of all the Yes-men. Combine this slab with Steve Howe's Beginnings, released the same year, throw in Jon Anderson, a few capes, fog and laser light effects, and you've got a classic Yes two-fer.
