Disco Dead! Why not?

This slab caused quite a negative stir amongst the Deadheads in 1978 as I recall, however I thought Lowell George did a fine job coaxing danceable grooves out of a band not known for such funk fluidity. Our beloved kaleidoscopic bass maestro Phil Lesh opts for unadorned, concise passages as opposed to his usual forays into the harmonic stratosphere, which served the songs and the rhythm section quite well.
