Ben Orr

With his good looks and patented rock star coiffe, the late Benjamin Orzechowski anchored “new wave” superstars The Cars. An accomplished lead singer and composer who crooned the band’s signature hits “Just What I Needed,” and “Let’s Go,” among others, Orr exemplified the genre’s simple root, eighth-note modus operandi which afforded a solid platform for the synths and shiny guitars to do their thing.

Orr continued his career when The Cars split with Big People, and Voices of Classic Rock, and waxed a fine solo side in ’85 entitled The Lace.
