Al Jarreau / Breakin' Away

A multiple Grammy Award winning watershed meld of jazz fusion, pop, and rhythm and blues, the late great Al Jarreau's signature slab Breakin’ Away (1981) was also a showcase for ace studio bassist Abraham Laboriel. Al, Abe, Steve Gadd, and George Duke tear it up on Dave Brubeck's "(Round, Round, Round) Blue Rondo à la Turk" which was cited for Best Jazz Vocal Performance.
