Paul Shaffer & The World's Most Dangerous Band

As I opined for Huff Post -The World's Most Dangerous Band (including the late Hiram Bullock) warrant entry in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (and likely Kennedy Center honors) for the awe-inspiring manner in which they brought rock, rhythm & blues, jazz fusion, and soul into the American Songbook vis-a-vis David Letterman's thirty plus year Late Night / Late Show run.

These cats ply their craft with joyful reverence and hard earned expertise bar none.

In a contemporary cultural landscape which rewards antiseptic digital divas (which I equate to the resonance of robots fornicating), the collective musical character of founding members Paul Shaffer and bassist Will Lee, along with Felicia Collins, Anton Fig, and Sid McGinnis (with a horn section and guest singers) as captured on this groovin' slab, to my ears, reigns superior!
